Black Swan Virus (Prevented). One of the many species of birds nesting in the wetlands has apparently become host to a virus not seen before in this part of the world. Black Swan Virus is spread by mosquito bites, and though rare, is sometimes fatal. The ecological monitoring station discovered the virus, and a program of capturing and quarantining infected birds has, so far, prevented any human infections.
