Without action to solve the overcommercialization problem, the balance
of interests in the town quickly shifts to overwhelmingly favor row
after row of tourist shops and vacation hotels.  Few residences are
left and the town's unique character is quickly lost as Disaster
Landing becomes just another Gulf Coast tourist trap.
